NICE

Nice is a leading homeware, décor, and household retailer in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, offering a wide range of furniture, kitchenware, tableware, décor items, storage solutions, and everyday home essentials. With a strong physical retail footprint and a fast-growing digital presence, Nice serves customers looking to create functional, stylish homes tailored to regional lifestyles.

Nice operates both a web storefront and native iOS and Android mobile applications, delivering a unified omnichannel shopping experience. The digital platform is built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), providing the foundation for scalable commerce operations.

Our engagement began after the initial launch of the platform. The objective was to stabilize, enhance, and expand an already live SFCC ecosystem — improving usability, enabling new omnichannel features, strengthening mobile integrations, and ensuring regulatory compliance — all without disrupting ongoing business operations.

01. The Challenge

When we joined the Nice project, the platform was already live and actively serving customers across web and mobile. The challenge was not to rebuild, but to evolve a production-grade commerce ecosystem while maintaining operational stability.

Operating on a Live, High-Traffic Platform

All enhancements had to be delivered in a live environment, requiring:

  • Zero-downtime deployments

  • Careful change management

  • Backward compatibility with existing functionality

  • Thorough testing across web and mobile channels

Every release needed to be production-safe.

Web, iOS & Android Alignment

Nice runs a true multi-channel commerce setup:

  • Web storefront

  • Native iOS app

  • Native Android app

The mobile apps integrate with SFCC via OCAPI and SCAPI, meaning:

  • Backend changes had direct impact on mobile experiences

  • API contracts needed to remain stable

  • Feature parity between web and mobile had to be maintained

Enhancements had to be designed with API-first thinking.

Expanding Omnichannel Capabilities

To support customer expectations and retail operations, Nice required:

  • Pickup in Store (Click & Collect)

  • Better integration between online and physical stores

  • Improved inventory visibility and fulfillment coordination

Improving Content & UX Agility

The existing setup limited marketing flexibility. The business needed:

  • Faster campaign and landing page creation

  • Reduced dependency on development teams

  • A modernized look and feel across key pages

Customer Engagement & Retention

Nice wanted to strengthen customer engagement through:

  • Behavioral marketing and automation

  • Push notifications and lifecycle campaigns

  • Better segmentation and personalization

Regulatory Compliance (ZATCA)

Operating in Saudi Arabia required full compliance with Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), including:

  • Digital invoicing requirements

  • Accurate tax handling

  • Regulatory readiness for audits

All compliance work needed to integrate seamlessly into existing checkout and order flows.

02. The Solution

We approached the project as a post-launch optimization and expansion initiative, strengthening the SFCC foundation while extending capabilities across web and mobile.

SFCC Core Optimization & API Stabilization

We enhanced the Salesforce Commerce Cloud implementation by:

  • Optimizing controllers and business logic

  • Improving OCAPI and SCAPI performance and stability

  • Ensuring consistent data delivery to web, iOS, and Android

  • Reducing API response times for critical flows

This created a reliable backbone for multi-channel commerce.

Page Designer Implementation

We implemented SFCC Page Designer, enabling:

  • Component-based page creation

  • Rapid campaign and landing page launches

  • Greater autonomy for marketing teams

This significantly improved content agility and reduced time-to-market.

Pickup in Store (Click & Collect)

We added Pickup in Store functionality, allowing:

  • Store-level inventory visibility

  • Customer selection of pickup location at checkout

  • Better alignment between online shopping and physical stores

This strengthened Nice’s omnichannel offering.

UX Redesign & Conversion Improvements

Key pages were redesigned with a focus on:

  • Clear navigation across large homeware catalogs

  • Improved product discovery and filtering

  • Cleaner product detail pages

  • Mobile-first usability across web and apps

The redesign enhanced both usability and conversion potential.

WebEngage Integration

We integrated WebEngage, enabling:

  • Behavioral segmentation

  • Push notifications (especially for mobile users)

  • Automated lifecycle and retention campaigns

  • Personalized customer engagement

This shifted Nice from transactional messaging to data-driven engagement.

ZATCA Compliance

We ensured full alignment with Saudi regulations by:

  • Supporting compliant tax calculations

  • Enabling ZATCA-compliant invoicing structures

  • Ensuring readiness for regulatory audits
